Traveling Geography Show

Traveling Geography Show participants

Traveling Geography Show participants “tear it up” creating mental maps of the world showing spatial perspectives.

In addition to hosting the annual GeoFest conference in the fall, WIGA hosts the Traveling Geography Show as a professional development and networking opportunity for the spring. The name “traveling geography show” started as a “working title” but we liked it so much (and thought it was kind of fun) we kept it as the name of the event! This showcase does truly travel with previous locations including New Berlin and Whitewater.

The Traveling Geography Show truly has something for everyone! There are usually multiple strands of sessions including GIS, AP Human Geo, pre-service teacher and general geography. Sessions cover all levels (elementary, middle and high school). Past workshops have even included field trips and a visit from a Wisconsin state senator!
