Scholarship Opportunity Available

Dear High School Administrators, School Counselors and Faculty,
Please allow me to introduce myself. I am the Program Coordinator for the Norman Miller Center for Peace, Justice & Public Understanding at St. Norbert College. Part of our mission is to cultivate awareness, compassion, and commitment to justice and the building of sustainable peace.

As part of our programming, we are co-sponsoring with The Green Bay Press Gazette The Norman Miller Essay in Public Understanding, a unique competition to increase awareness of social inequalities. It is named for the late Norman Miller, a Green Bay business leader and longtime advocate for human rights. The submitted essays honor his legacy by encouraging better understanding between people. This competition is tied to our next Norman and Louis Miller Lecture in Public Understanding, which will present Aziz Abu Sarah, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of MEDJI Tours on March 2, 2017.

Attached are a cover letter and handout providing information on this scholarship competition for The Norman Miller Essay in Public Understanding, including a brief description for judging criteria. Entries should focus on social inequalities, as described in the handout. The deadline for all entries is Wednesday, January 18, 2017. Prizes include scholarships to St. Norbert College and an iPad.

Please see the our website for more information on the Norman Miller Center for Peace, Justice & Public Understanding, or this link for the Miller Lecture series. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me by email or at 920-403-3919.

Warm regards,
Catherine Uedelhofen
